The video for Moran Magal’s successful empowerment anthem “Witches Find Their Way” (together with the Kingspipers led by Wim Drobisch from Corvus Corax) has barely been released and already has over 100.000 views – and the next top-class collaboration has already been announced:
“New Day” – is a rocking power ballad in duet with Johanna Krins. The blind singer has already caused quite a stir in the dark medieval scene with the band Bannkreis together with Eric Fish (Subway To Sally).
With this duet, the two artists not only deliver a rousing song, but also show how much strong female voices are needed in rock music, especially in this day and age.
Moran Magal had already fallen in love with Johanna Krins’ voice at a Bannkreis gig in Wacken in 2019 and contacted her to request a duet. It quickly became clear that the two musicians were not only on the same wavelength musically, but also spiritually. You can hear this immediately in “New Day”: the evocation of positive power through music despite all the struggles and tragedy of daily life comes through clearly in the catchy melody and the hard guitar riff.
Not giving up hope is the strong message in this song: New day, better day.
